The Unexpected Spring Shoe Trends That You Will See Everywhere

This season there are a few standout footwear looks that are a little different from the usual, so check out these interesting shoe trends that you will be seeing a lot of this spring and summer.

Huarache Inspired Sandals

Huaraches are Mexican traditional sandals that are made from leather and if they are handmade they prove their legitimacy.

This year though the huarache has had a new breathe of life as Thakoon showed their alternative for this shoe. Sandal lines have already been showing a lot of woven leather, so we are sure that by mid-year, Huarache inspired sandals will be the next big thing that can be worn with jeans or a maxi skirt with flowy tops.

Mules

Mules are not new but at many of the 2016 fashion shows the nineties and the seventies met in the form of chunky mules.

These are not really sandals, but they are not heels either. The purpose of mules is definitely to give you height as well as the comfort you crave.

Babouches

These are also not really sandals, but more like flats that don’t cover your entire foot. At the 2016 fashion shows Babouches started to create a huge buzz.

Traditionally these shoes are actually like a slipper from Middle East, but they came in modern forms at the Celine Resort Collection 2016.

This shoe trend is different and wont be for everyone, but we are sure you will be seeing fashion forward women in babouches or pointed toe slides at the very least.

Colorful Shoes

The runways were covered in colorful sandals this year. This is definitely on the opposite spectrum of the neutrals, whites, blacks and metals that we have been seeing before so maybe it is time for a change and to wear something colorful on our feet.

Edgy and Chunky Platforms

If you are craving some height, then platforms allow you to be taller whilst being chic and comfortable unlike stilettos.

There were some edgy and chunky platforms on the runways this year and even though last summer they did make an appearance, we are sure that will be new platforms for this year.
